Student Success Initiative (SSI)(There will NOT be a 2nd or 3rd Administration in 2011-2012)
8th Grade is part of the Student Success Initiative (SSI). Students that do not meet the passing standard on the First administration ofMath and/or Reading must receive math and/or reading intervention in additionto their math class AND take the second administration of Math and/or Reading. Students that do not meet the passing standard on the Second administration of Math and/or Reading will be registered for the Student Success Academy and take the third administration of the Math and/or Reading. A Grade Placement Committee (GPC) and/or ARD meeting will be held to review Accelerated Instruction Plans (AIP)designed by the students' teachers.
Students that do not meet the passing standard on the Third administration of Math and/or Reading will have a 2nd Grade Placement Committee meeting and/or ARD. The GPC/ARD will review new AIPs (based on the results of the 3rd administration) and determine whether the students are to be retained to 8th grade or promoted to the 9th grade.
